Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Michael is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Venue Capital – an investment and asset management firm that partners with top seniors housing operators to create exceptional experiences for residents and significant value for investors. Since dedicating his career to the industry in 2006, Michael has transacted over $1 billion worth of seniors housing and care assets, while establishing long-standing and mutually beneficial relationships with many of the nation’s top operators.
Prior to forming Venue, Michael was the Chief Investment Officer for Care Investment Trust, where he was responsible for sourcing, structuring, and underwriting acquisition and joint venture opportunities. Michael was instrumental in growing Care’s portfolio to 42 properties, with 8 operating partners, across 11 states prior to its successful sale in 2018. Earlier in his career, Michael held various positions at CIT Group and Credit Suisse, where he underwrote debt and equity transactions across the healthcare real estate spectrum, including seniors housing, skilled nursing, and medical office.
Michael was selected to join the Future Leaders Council (FLC) for the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) and he is a frequent participant and speaker at industry events. Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University and a Master’s in Real Estate Finance and Investments from New York University’s Shack Institute of Real Estate.
Vice President
Matthew serves as Venue Capital’s Vice President and is an integral member of the firm’s investment and asset management activities. Alongside Venue Capital’s CEO, Matthew oversees the sourcing and underwriting of prospective seniors housing investment opportunities that align with the company’s distinct investment objectives.
Prior to joining Vencap in 2021, Matthew was a portfolio manager for Invesque, Inc., a publicly traded real estate investment company with a nearly $2.0 billion portfolio of senior living and medical office properties. In his six years with the firm, Matthew’s tenure included experience as an investment analyst responsible for acquisition, financing, and asset management of communities as well as three years as a portfolio manager overseeing the performance and development of the company’s portfolio. Matthew also played an instrumental role in the company’s IPO in June 2016 and the transformative acquisition of Care Investment Trust in 2018.
Matthew received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Indiana University.
